Business Development Manager – Garage Management Software & Payments

 

Remote role | UK and Ireland | Field-based travel

 

Garage Data Systems (GDS) is a leading provider of garage management software, supporting independent workshops across the UK and Ireland. Part of the ClearCourse group, GDS is entering an exciting growth phase as we evolve from our established desktop platform to a new cloud-based solution, alongside Garage Pay, our integrated payments offering.

 

To support this next stage of growth, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager focused on new logo acquisition to help expand GDS’s presence across the automotive aftermarket.

 

The Role

 

This is a remote, new-business sales role focused on winning new garage customers across the UK and Ireland, with regular travel for face-to-face meetings, demonstrations, and industry events.

 

You will be responsible for selling GDS’s full product suite, including Version 6 desktop, our next-generation cloud platform, and Garage Pay. The role carries clear monthly and quarterly sales targets and plays a direct role in delivering GDS’s commercial growth strategy.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Identifying and engaging independent garages, repair centres, workshop managers, and business owners across the automotive aftermarket

  • Generating new opportunities through outbound prospecting and cold calling to build and maintain a healthy pipeline

  • Meeting customers in person and remotely to understand how their businesses operate and where technology can improve efficiency, profitability, and compliance

  • Delivering tailored demonstrations of GDS software and payments solutions, clearly linking features to operational and commercial outcomes

  • Managing the full sales cycle from first contact through to close

  • Building long-term relationships with new customers and identifying opportunities to upsell additional features, cloud upgrades, and integrated payments

  • Working closely with marketing, onboarding, and support teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to go-live

  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, pipeline data, and forecasts, and reporting regularly on progress and performance

  • Representing GDS at trade shows, industry events, and regional garage forums

  • Feeding customer insight and recurring pain points back into the product team to support ongoing development

 

What We’re Looking For

 

  • A proven track record in B2B sales or business development

  • Experience selling into the automotive aftermarket, SaaS, or payments is highly desirable

  • Comfortable with new logo acquisition and proactive outbound sales activity

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and working to defined targets

  • Ability to work independently in a remote, field-based role and manage time effectively
