Front End Development Lead
The Front End Development Lead is instrumental in upholding best practices for high quality front end code in both our digital product and customer projects. Requiring an extensive knowledge of front end code (HTML/SCSS/JS), experience with WCAG accessibility guidelines, and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate extensively with other areas of the business, the role requires someone to evangelise front end development and improve and streamline processes and workflows, along with line management and day-to-day managing of team members. You'll be leading the front end development team and building connections with team members - managing and mentoring them to write high quality, accessible and responsive code. Creating and adjusting processes to streamline workflows and improve outputs, owning the code side of our design system - suggesting improvments and improving componentisation etc..

Desirable experience/charactersitics :
- 8+ years of experience in front end development.
- Strong leadership skills and experience of managing and mentoring a team.
- Extensive HTML/SCSS/JS (or jQuery) ability.
- Knowledge and proficiency of responsive design across all screen sizes.
- Experience of translating designs from UI design tools (Sketch/Figma/Adobe XD) into front end code.
- Proficiency in best accessibility practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for code and eagerness to follow latest technological solutions and technologies.
